Founder / Director
Jeremy Chapman, MD
I'm a child & adolescent psychiatrist based at SSM Health Treffert Studios in Wisconsin. I founded PsychChild during my fellowship at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, when I realized that patients opened up to me when I asked them about video games and social media (even though I knew very little about them!).

Ashvin Sood, MD
Dr. Sood is a child & adolescent psychiatrist with SSM Health Treffert Studios in Wisconsin. He specializes in the intersectionality of social media and teen's mental health. As part of the team, he oversees rotating medical students, residents, and other trainees. He is also an active member of AACAP's Media Committee, who has published numerous articles and given presentations about topics related to screen time, media, and children's mental health.

Academic Lead
Matthew Jandrisevits, PhD
Dr. Jandrisevits is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He practices psychotherapy at Children’s Wisconsin with youth from preschool age though young adulthood and their families, and has an interest in promoting healthy behaviors and interactions related to media use, both at home and within the therapy experience. On the PsychChild team, Dr. Jandrisevits engages in activities related to clinical quality and outcome data.

Lucia Cheng, MD
Dr. Cheng is a Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist in private practice (Phoenix Progressive Psychiatric Services). Dr. Cheng is herself an avid video gamer and specializes in working with adult gamers. She volunteers with nonprofit organizations focused on video games and mental health, and works to educate the mental health professional community about the potential benefits of video games.

Casey Berson, MD
Dr. Berson is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist currently working as an APD and serving on the AACAP media committee. She believes that the potential for advocacy and education through PsychChild is immense and amazing.

Ayanah Dowdye
Ayanah is a 3rd Year medical student at Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL. She is interested in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry through the lens of trauma informed care; particularly the intersection between biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors in understanding what is needed to better support children and families that have experienced trauma.

Media Psychology Lead
Courtney Garcia, M.Ed.
Courtney is an Instructional Systems Designer and author who holds a Masters in Education with a focus on Social-Emotional Learning. She studies and writes about positive media psychology for her channel, Screen Therapy. Using her education and background as an instructional designer, she's interested in making complex positive media psychology concepts approachable. She also aims to explain how to use this information to benefit our everyday lives with media.
Favorite Apps: TikTok and Stoa (an app for daily Stoicism practice)
Favorite Games/Channels: Witcher 3, The Last of Us (I and II), Hades, Animal Crossing, and Davey Wreden's games. Favorite YouTube channels are currently Kurzgesagt and Markiplier.
